title = "Fulminantes akutes Nierenversagen nach Cholezystektomie bei einer 45‑j{\"a}hrigen Patientin",
abstract = "A cholecystectomy was carried out on a 45-year-old female patient with fever, myalgia and right upper abdominal pain because of a suspected cholecystitis. Postoperatively acute kidney injury occurred. A comprehensive medical history taken later revealed a presumed occupational contact to rodents. Serological testing detected a recent infection with Dobrava-Belgrade hantavirus. The kidney function normalized with supportive therapeutic measures. Hantavirus infection should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute kidney injury combined with fever, myalgia and abdominal pain.",
