In the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine as well as the Association of German Anesthesiologists discussions on the optimization of training have a long tradition. The following article gives a description of the concept and the practical approach to the training curricular at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf and is designed to stimulate discussion on possible concepts for training in anesthesiology.
