Abstract

OBJECTIVES: We evaluated whether renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockade attenuates cardiovascular events. BACKGROUND: Because inflammation and enhanced thrombogenesis are hallmarks of atherosclerosis, we assessed whether RAS inhibition elicits anti-inflammatory and anti-aggregatory effects.
