Cardiac myosin-binding protein C in the heart.

Abstract

Understanding the structural and functional role of cardiac myosin-binding protein C in the heart is clinically relevant, as cMyBP-C gene mutations are a widely recognized cause of familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Our knowledge about this protein considerably improved over the past decade. This review outlines several studies, which highlight the role of cardiac myosin-binding protein C and its phosphorylation in the heart in health and disease. Arch
